Imagine a hypothetical senario. What if the magic angel came down to each Palestinian citizen and offer them one of the two choices, which one do you think they'd pick?(Keep in mind that it can only be one of the two choices and you'd have to abide with the consequences of either one as described )

I think the Palestinian people would choose to have the US military go back home to where it came from, instead of hanging around pretending that American tax dollars are not funding Israel's attack on Palestine's soil.
@SandWitch This is a Middle Eastern problem so the solution lies there.. Not in America or China.
An atheist country such as the UK should keep its nose out.

Every country should keep it's nose out, not just the UK.
I agree, this is a Middle Eastern problem which is why the USA needs to stop posturing itself with warships positioned over in the Middle East, while pretending to the world that America is doing something noteworthy.

@sunriselover The UK is not "atheist" but hosts all religions and none - but anyway that is not relevant at all. Actually, the original idea to make an artificial Israel in Palestine was first mooted by the UK!

The decision to do so though, was by the League of Nations, the precursor to the United Nations, largely as a reaction to Adolf Hitler's pogrom against the Jews..

Since Palestine had been a British Protectorate, against Turkey's expansionism, the Arabs understandably felt betrayed by this.

It had never been the USA's business outside of her part in the League of Nations, and it's certainly not China's nor Russia's, now.
@ArishMell I’m familiar with the Balfour declaration, and the historical interest. But that was many years ago, culminating with the Atlee withdrawal.

But that was at a time before it became multicultural.

Yes, I agree that the UK is tolerant of all faiths. Yet recent polls suggest less than 50% say they have any faith. And perhaps religion is not relevant here.

But why support Isreal. Surly a neutral stance is merited. We have 4 million Muslims, 400 000 Jews. Surely our response should reflect this.
