Former UK Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn Refuses to Condemn Hamas

Jeremy Corbyn refuses to condemn Hamas after militant group carries out deadly attack on Israel

Jeremy Corbyn has refused to condemn Hamas after militants stormed settlements in southern Israel, killing and taking hostage both soldiers and civilians in a surprise attack.

The former Labour leader said “all attacks are wrong” and repeated his call for an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestine. “Which, of course, is fundamentally the background to the whole issue,” Mr Corbyn said.

“I don’t support any attacks, therefore I criticise them all,” he added.

However, asked by ITV News, Mr Corbyn stopped short of directly condemning the terrorist group he previously called “friends” – comments he later said he regretted.

(...)

“We need an immediate ceasefire and urgent de-escalation,” he said. And he called for Israel to end its occupation of Palestine as “the only means of achieving a just and lasting peace”.

His hatred against Jews makes it impossible for him to condemn the horrible attacks of those deadly killers against innocent people (and concert goers). 😕

What do the Palestinians and Progressives mean when they shout "from the river,
to the sea" Is that a call for genocide of the Israeli people?
Ynotisay · M
@DogMan I think Progressives, and most Palestinians, use the phrase in support of a two-state solution where innocent people, on both sides, can live without the threat of death. I think terrorists and Zionists, see it as the destruction of Israel. Which clearly won't happen. Most conservatives will take it that way too because they're told to.

@DogMan Yepp. What else could it mean?
In October they were only able to kill some 1200 Jews, cut an unborn baby out of a pregnant woman's womb to filet it; cut off a woman's breasts to play ball games; "from the river to the sea" means doing that to all Jews, from the river Jordan to the Mediterranean sea.
Adolf Hitler in hell will have a good laugh at that.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay Got this off VOX. It actually has both meanings. The original means the extermination
of the Israelis, so they changed the meaning, although many people know what they mean.
This is why some countries are outlawing the slogan.

Hamas, which controls Gaza, also adopted a version of the phrase in its 2017 charter. The militant group previously called in its founding charter for the destruction of the Israeli state and killing Jewish people; though the more recent document allows for the possibility of a two-state solution according to the borders in effect prior to the 1967 war, Hamas has continued to attack Israel, most violently in the October 7 massacre

@DogMan “The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.’”
– Hamas Founding Charter –
DogMan · 61-69, M
@helenS Yes, that is why they are changing the narrative to mean a two state solution.
They know what they mean. But it doesn't make them look good. They have been
offered a two state solution, they do not want that. They want all the land from
the river, to the sea. If they wanted a two state solution, they would say it.
helenS · 36-40, F
@DogMan Actually Gaza was a "two-state-solution"; Israel withdraw from Gaza in 2005 under Sharon. The result turned out to be really nice and peaceful.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@helenS correct, because it doesn't encompass the river to the sea.
helenS · 36-40, F
@DogMan You appear to be one of the few people on here who understood that the intention of the "Palestine people" is another holocaust.
Ynotisay · M
@DogMan Right. Terrorists and those who spread fear use it one way. Those who want peace and freedom use it in another. Thanks for sourcing that article but I'm no sure why you didn't include the origin of the phrase though. It doesn't mean the extermination of Israelis. You shared a new incarnation of the phrase created by terrorists in 2017.
What it is now is just a phrase people spew to show which team they're on. But I'm pretty sure you couldn't find too many protestors in Western countries using that phrase in support of Hamas. That's kind of ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as those saying that's what they really mean.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay They have been using it in the states. They are supposedly being investigated.

It is not clear when it originated, some say from the 1950's others the 1990's when Arafat
was in charge.
helenS · 36-40, F
@DogMan Arafat the terrorist and Peace Noble prize winner. 👎🏽
Ynotisay · M
@DogMan Who is being investigated in the states? The land of free speech. I'm curious. Let me know.
Ynotisay · M
@helenS Yeah. He was awarded it along with Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin. Do you know who they are? Do you know why the three were honored? Any knowledge on the Oslo Accords?
helenS · 36-40, F
@Ynotisay A deadly killer was awarded the Peace Noble prize.
Ynotisay · M
@helenS Ah. So you don't about the Oslo Accords and why it was jointly awarded. OK. Whatever.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Ynotisay Groups under Arafat’s direct or indirect command – including Fatah, Black September, Tanzim and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade – were responsible for hundreds of bombings, hijackings, assassinations and other attacks, including the 1972 murder of 11 of Israel’s Olympic athletes in Munich, the 1973 murder of the American ambassador to Sudan, Cleo Noel, and the 1985 hijacking of the Achille Lauro cruiseship (resulting in the murder of wheelchair-bound Leon Klinghoffer).
Not sure if his innocent victims care too much about the "Oslo Accords".
But, as you said, whatever... 👎🏽
DogMan · 61-69, M
@helenS Yes, I have researched and listened to many different people on the subject.
And that is the logical belief. Many people hate to think of the Palestinians as brutal
people, and I'm sure many are not, but the majority are.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay Our DOJ said that it doesn't fall under free speech, when you are talking about
the genocide of a democratic nation.
Ynotisay · M
@helenS Just can't stick to the facts when an opportunity for faux-outrage presents itself, huh? Again, whatever.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay Are you saying that Hamas and the Pals abide by the Oslo Accord? I didn't
know that the Oslo Accord called for the destruction of Israel.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@helenS If I remember right, Arafat went on a deadly spree right after that.
helenS · 36-40, F
@DogMan Here's a part of the timeline of that Noble prize winner's noble contributions to humanity:

– Feb. 21, 1970: SwissAir flight 330, bound for Tel Aviv, is bombed in mid-flight by PFLP, a PLO member group. 47 people are killed.

– May 8, 1970: PLO terrorists attack an Israeli schoolbus with bazooka fire, killing nine pupils and three teachers from Moshav Avivim

– Sept. 6, 1970: TWA, Pan-Am, and BOAC airplanes are hijacked by PLO terrorists.

– May 1972: PFLP, part of the PLO, dispatches members of the Japanese Red Army to attack Lod Airport in Tel Aviv, killing 27 people.

– Sept. 5, 1972: Munich Massacre —11 Israeli athletes are murdered at the Munich Olympics by a group calling themselves “Black September,”said to be an arm of Fatah, operating under Arafat’s direct command.

– April 11, 1974: 11 people are killed by Palestinian terrorists who attack apartment building in Kiryat Shmona.

– May 15, 1974: PLO terrorists infiltrating from Lebanon hold children hostage in Ma’alot school. 26 people, 21 of them children, are killed.

He's really worth a world-famous peace prize.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@helenS Hmmmm, doesn't sound too peaceful does it?
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Ynotisay I think Helen has presented the facts very clearly. Do you have your glasses on?
helenS · 36-40, F
@DogMan Hey, but the "Oslo Accord"! (which, of course, he failed to comply, he just went on killing innocent people wherever he could.)
