Wasn't Iran supposed to be a dangerous country. They've not managed to do any real damage it seems to Israel or any American ships?

@1490wayb but prices are now going up thanks to the war right?

@TradEmily one of many reasons...inflation is a constant. actually stagflation is even worse we learned in the past when salaries and prices dont move or drop

@TradEmily benefitting whom? the big US fossil fuel companies, all friends of POTUS!
TradEmily · 26-30, F
@1490wayb so if Iran wasn't actually dangerous why are we doing this to raise our prices?
1490wayb · 56-60, M
@TradEmily they are responsible for decades of terrorism. the world feared another decades long war like afghanistan and iraq. only now do we have the right weapons and strategy to take their regime out.

@1490wayb they were essentially neutralized, true they did sponsor terrorism, but agreed to not go towards an atomic bomb, until that deal was abolished, then it became much worse.

Yep, those sharp spikes in gas & diesel prices in Mar 2026 are NOT caused by inflation. They're caused by Iran shutting down the Strait of Hormuz. Demand for fuel is what they call "inelastic." That means world fuel prices have to go pretty high to drive world demand down by 20%.

It's interesting that renewable energy sources can be measured in equivalent barrels of oil per day. The US consumes about 20 million barrels/day of oil, plus an additional 4 million equivalent barrels from wind & solar. Every new wind & solar project is displacing more oil demand.
