Can someone explain this to me?

I heard that the IDF has some sort of capability of back tracking Iranian missiles to the site of the Iranian launchers. And once the launchers are located, they can be destroyed. At least, I THINK I heard that.

And yet Iranians are launching into the Strait of Hormuz.

Sooo...why can't the United States back track THOSE missiles to the site of their launchers and TARGET them with our bombers?

Years ago I spent a few rotations at Air Force bases in France, where the airdrome had been upgraded and previously used by the German Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain. The Luftwaffe protected their planes by dispersing their airplanes via roadways leading to tree groves and even connecting airdromes to one another with hiding places between airdromes. Also fortified underground hiding places.
