This is a country of 90 million people, 4 times the size of Iraq and the only thing all factions agree on is they don't want to be western puppets ever again.
Trump just created the conditions for nearly ever faction in the country to turn on the US and the west.
Ideas that they will just fly in Palavi and install an absolute monarch nearly everyone in the country hates and that will solve everything is delusional.
Best case this ends in a stalemate and America goes home.
Worse case scenario is a civil war, and regional chaos for another 20 years.

Hope is all very well, but whether it will happen is another matter. The Iranian government has planned for its succession whether its "Supreme Leader" is killed or died naturally.
