There have been major protests in Iran before but this one seems extra violent

Both sides know they can't be seen to let the other side win.
Because if they do, there's no recovery.
Probably for a generation.

This is what makes Trump's behaviour of late so frustrating.

Quite happy to send a SEAL team in to a foreign land for a nonsense endeavour but when there's a real opportunity to oust a dangerous regime possibly permanently (given that the entire world knows how they've encouraged and backed terrorism in the middle east since the Sha's overthrow in '79) he's not interested.

Probably because it would mean the need for boots on the ground.
That probably wouldn't play well at home and he's short on friends he could call on to help share the load having been so aggressive in his tarrif strategy.

Also in China too. When every tyrants kicks the bucket and Xi Jinping sings Kim Jong il song "I'm so lonely...."
More than 2000 protesters killed apparently
@Elessar Might have been from a very partisan site

@TheDeathOCuHullainn Yeah, they're also disconnected from the internet so the numbers I've seen could be outdated or from a conservative estimate

@TheDeathOCuHullainn I saw the Crown Prince on the news today saying it was more than the amount of people that died on 9/11

The cleric government will do anything to retain power. They don’t mind a massacre if they think it will help with that. Which only proves that they should be taken out of power.
