In case you all don't know and already cheering for US airstrikes towards Iran thinking it is the end of a war.

IAEA and satellite damage assessments haven't even confirmed destruction levels.

Most experts believe conventional strikes delay and degrade the program, but are unlikely to eliminate a deeply rooted, underground, and dispersed nuclear infrastructure like Iran's. The sites will likely not be deeply enough damaged to affect any potentially existing nuclear assets.

And no one knows the status of uranium stockpiles, especially near weapons grade materials or where..

Because of potential nature of surface facilities there will likely be radiation exposure and local casualties.

Which I know almost none of you care about. The lives of Iranians don't truly matter to Americans. Especially judging from how many of you were already celebrating civilian death for days now.

And Iran will use that to continue and legitimize the war Israel has started and many of you foolishly supported.

Think about how all of this makes it very reasonable and consolidates the necessity for other countries to develop nuclear weapons. International law is a joke and the only guarentee of defense is owning powerful nuclear arsenals already.

Negotiations with the US themselves are a facade of offensive military intent. Diplomacy is a waste of time and no trust can be built with the US.
The ability to make global decisions independently of Israeli influence is next to zero.

Nuclear weapons should be completely banned.
@Miram thank you for ur comment. I'm learning very much now and I'm appalled of many things about politics.

@greensnacks We have Christian zealots cheering this on because they can't wait for Armegeddon.
JSul3 · 70-79
@Miram There was a time that Netanyahu celebrated and supported Hamas.

Just to be clear, I'm in the US, and have not seen or heard of one person celebrating this... more concern about what comes next... as we didn't think this was actually going to happen.

I believe Countries have an absolute right to defend themselves and Ukraine and Israel were reacting to their counties being attacked.

But now, now Israel and United States have attacked a country that was not (at least not directly) attacking them ... and they have an absolute right to defend themselves, and that sucks, as we shouldn't be attacking others like that...

Kinda wondering if Israel leader is just keeping the wars going to stay in power... and what information convinced Trump to get actively involved.
@Miram I've been working all evening, got important deadlines due in 48 hours and Manager went M.I.A. for three weeks and then showed back up with 5 important deadlines and not enough time to get it done, so I'm having to work my off days, just to attempt to get the projects done.

But when this news hit, there was a massive wave of texting, and everyone seemed worried, concerned... no one was happy or in a good mood.

Well there was one person, but they were talking about their grandkid and not a single word of politics, so I'm ignoring that as an exception.

I'm just saying, the American that I know, that have seen and addressed the situation, have not been happy about it. Not a single one. The closest has been curiosity of what will happen next...

@sstronaut

And you needed to mention that to invalidate what I said? I can't think of single other reason. You being so busy should have given you a hint that you are missing a large part of the picture.

Even right after making this thread I caught Daniel warmongering elsewhere..so it is very nice that you don't have to deal with the traumatizing fact that so many americans celebrate war, yet it is still a fact. I see it everyday here even from people I called friends.

So many Americans cheer to civilian deaths and justify them regularly and not just in Iran. Yemen, Gaza, Iraq, Syria...etc.

And I will remember that always. Both as someone who lost loved ones in war and someone who had to survive it. I will carve it in my brain indefinitely.

It is not exclusive to Americans. But these strikes were on you.

Best of luck with your work load. I hope you get yourself a break eventually.
@Miram No, I don't feel like I have enough knowledge or power to invalidate anything, much less someone that I see as much smarter and wiser than me, which is how I see you.

I was messaging, with the hope, of giving you hope, that while you have seen what you have seen (and I don't doubt you, not for a second), I was hoping to encourage you that MAYBE, just MAYBE a majority of us Americans aren't those hateful ones that you have seen, and those bad apples and making us look worse than we actually are.

You can pick most topics, and get 10% to 40% of Americans to agree with you... I was just opening to encourage you to believe, and I praying and hoping to believe as well, that over 50% of Americans would be against this.

And no, these strikes were not on me. Maybe my country, maybe the stupid leader than America elected... but I actively voted against him, and have not encouraged going into any other countries.

The life of Iranians are as important as Americans or the people of the rest of the world. USA loves people of Iran. They are all over USA. Any nation does not like secret stockpiling of nuclear weapons specially in the region where Israel is. And people all over the world will grieve about any loss of life and or property whether in Iran, Israel or America.

Even Persian crown prince approved it. Maybe it will be a transfer of power in hands which value women as men.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@DanielsASJ And why would you apologize for something you have not done? US elite class attacked Iranian elite class because they believed that in spite of all the oil reserves, they are enriching themselves with uranium isotopes which was fishy.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@Miram Do you think that anybody would want to hurt you? I have no enmity with Iranian govt but as far as I know, it's uranium plants are there to hurt US allies set up by Russia and China proxies.

Also, that was my reply to him because it was not his intention to pay sympathy. I knew his intention.

Just to be clear I'm against what the United States did. There's better ways to handle it and I thought the same thing, the radiation fallout is going to make other people sick. Not to mention the people already there
SatanBurger · 36-40, F

I mean if I was a different country and I saw all the backstabbing like it's Survivor or something, I'd build nukes too. I couldn't imagine the paranoia that one day countries may kill my citizens.
DDonde · 31-35, M
I want you to know that I do not want this
Miram · 31-35, F
@DDonde I know. I remember something you told me years ago in similar situation. You're not a pro war person
I don't know what to say. I'm ashamed, to be honest.
GemApelJeff · 46-50, M
It does seem like a successful operation!!
Miram · 31-35, F
@GemApelJeff Go take care of yourself and him. It is not the time to discuss these things or argue. And you don't habte to explain. Stay safe
GemApelJeff · 46-50, M
@Miram You too, i value life as you do, i don't express myself as well as you do though. Which causes problems. Hopefully he can sleep and feel better. Sorry.
Miram · 31-35, F
@GemApelJeff Don't worry about it. It is mostly my own responsibility.
Miram, that was an exceptionally well-written piece and I'm in full agreement with your very objective perspective on this whole Israeli-US self-serving agenda.
