England has a pretty low murder rate. Please read, not here to talk why.

If you combine California and New York you get around 59M people. England has 57M. California (2000) + New York (600) has 2600 murders.
4x and change England’s 600.
Numbers are rounded up and from Google.
Again, no debates as to why.
Here’s my questions.

Do the TV streaming services show every investigation?

Is there a small amount of homicide detectives? If not, do preachers, doctors, housewives and other amateurs, even ghosts, have to solve so many cases over there?

Father Brown, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) were the first two that came to mind for me when you mentioned preachers, ghosts, various other amateur sleuths and I know there's been countless British mystery programmes over the years that all follow similar themes🙂

@bookerdana I've never read any of the books B but I always get drawn in when I see it on telly. I always liked Murder She Wrote as well and all them kinda breezy whodunits.

The investigators are police. I thought it was a doctor. They filmed 100+ episodes. 116. Even if there are some story arcs that’s still a lot of murders for be island. I liked the show, just odd so many murders n a small island. Lots of tourists get killed too.
