If booking a holiday farm stay in England, is smoking likely to be allowed as farmers aren't known for being fussy?

This page says that some owners do allow smoking.

Smokers are welcome here! Scroll down to view these holiday homes for smokers, which allow smoking inside all or designated areas of the property. Smoking (and vaping) in a UK holiday cottage is permissible in self-contained accommodation, provided its owners will allow it – so here is a selection of cottages that make smokers welcome!

If you are a smoker, choose one of these cottages for a holiday where you can feel well and truly at home. No need to stand outside in the rain or on cold evenings: All holiday cottages on this list have indicated that they allow smoking – but be sure to check their website for any particular conditions that may apply.

Visit Britain says:
Exemptions

While smoking is banned from all of the indoor public and communal areas of attractions, hotels and guesthouses, there are a number of exemptions:

Self-contained short-term rental accommodation (holiday cottages/flats/caravans) are not required to be smoke-free, but you retain the right to determine whether to allow smoking in your property.

@ninalanyon Didn't know that: useful info as I can avoid them. 😂
@FreddieUK Are you a smoker?

@Oldanglaisadverbs No. Which is why I would avoid them. I remember the smell of hotel rooms that allowed smoking (a lot on mainland Europe) and in the homes of some of my relatives.
