Exploring the villages and cycle routes of Surrey - Shalford, Wonersh, Bramley, Cranleigh and Godalming

Shalford
I was puzzled by this thing for years. What was it for? In fact, it's a swift tower - birds live in it!
Wonersh
Bramley
Bramley and Wonersh - Disused railway station - tracks removed, turned into cycle way and bridle path
Cranleigh - not really a village, not quite a town...
Godalming

So quaint and friendly. Nothing like that in the Etats Unis.

@hunkalove Aha, the illusion has worked! Well it isn't entirely an illusion - a lot of things in Surrey are 'quaint' - but the levels of motor traffic are quite intrusive. I travelled mainly by the cycle routes, which I am still discovering. This part of the country is quite well provided with them.

Britain has the most picturesque and quaint villages.

I love those narrow boats. It would be fun to sail one on the canals, negotiate the locks etc.
