Lovely photographs of fine architecture, again!

Wimpy.... I thought the chain had gone out of business, like the Little Chef that used to operate on the A-roads until, probably, losing long-distance trade to the motorways. (I abjure the service areas - except for the loos!)

Look at most town-centres now and it's a dreary litany of all-identical, over-sold, high-price, low-value, mostly-American chains; the only exception by country being Costa (I call it 'Costalotta'). That was British, was taken over by Whitbreads, probably owned by some anonymous bunch of spivs in Wall Street or Hong Kong now.

Luckily, we can usually avoid the imported and hedge-fund tat. If we look more closely we do find very good, independent cafes and restaurants. Many survived The Pestilence though as with everyone else are now being hit hard by the rising inflation.

Costa is owned by Coca- Cola . @ArishMell

@devonman Thank you. Might have guessed it had gone to America, eventually..... I'm surprised it still exists, in that case, rather than asset-stripped.

@ArishMell Hugely profitable .
