Ok here it comes

When I was a kid and I became aware that there's a country called England and it has a queen I was so fascinated about that and I believed that only women are allowed to rule England, like it started with queen Victoria and that they all were women till Elizabeth the II.

Even as an adult watching Peaky Blinders and they talk about the king George VI it felt weird. But here we are it's a reality now and there's really a king.

There was quite a few Kings in between we had a line of Edward, George, Edward, George. I only know this because it's a nice easy line to remember but yes Victoria and Elizabeth were Queens for a long time like I think all 4 of the Kings together only equalled about 50 years, that's the time scale between Victoria dying and Elizabeth II being crowned.

@AdaXI Henry VIII, isn't he the mot famous
AdaXI · 41-45, T
@SW-User In short yes he was the one we always got to taught about at school. I think the main reason (other than him being a ruthless wife killer) was because he split the the monarchy from Catholicism basically declaring himself divine like the pope which is why we have the church of England but sadly yes that about as good as it gets for kings oh and Harold who got shot in the eye back in 1066 is very iconic.

I think cause there's so few Queens though and half of them had long reigns so they are far far easier to remember, they also seem to be eras of great stability like the last two Queens were monarchs for well over 130 years between them with no major troubles going on but like the last two King Georges were Kings during the World Wars which is confusing in itself as it would be easy to assume it's just the same guy but yes like there is so many Georges and Hendry's in history who ruled for a decade here and there and often they'd name the first son by the same name so they mostly just blur together.

@SW-User Haha I just watched In Otter Words horrible histories song and yes that kinda highlights how these Kings just blur together like ''three more Hendry's join our song'' LOLZ!

yess the same thing with me as a kid. i thought England only had Queens lol. queen Diana was such a huge symbol of positivity for women in the US & all over the world. and growing up in the '90s, everyone was still obsessed with her & still mourning her tragic death.

@lovelywarpedlemon princess diana, she was never queen
@kutee oh lol
kutee · T
@lovelywarpedlemon she was married to prince charles the son of the queen elizabeth.and when she died she was divorced from thw prince and so wasnt even a princess anymore, just lady diana
Victoria wasn't the first.
It was Mary. The one the bloody Mary challenge was named after because she killed protestants for fun but Queen Elizabeths reign has carried throughout generations so this makes sense to a child because it's all they knew.
It should be mandatory.
Lol... you kinda missed a king out somewhere... King George had to reign before the late Queen could...
I won't see another Queen of England in my lifetime
