Easter Day can fall on any date within the 35 days between March 22 and April 25,and this year it comes in the latter part of that period,being April 20.On that basis,Mardi Gras can fall as late as March 9 - though of course February is a more "normal" time for it to occur.

@craig7 Yes, I do understand why it sometimes occurs in March. It just feels a bit late when it does.
