@bijouxbroussard the full history of colonialism is still to be written I feel... You only have to look at the middle east to see the results of drawing lines on maps
@Convivial Even in the United States, there’s the question of reparations for the descendants of the original African slaves who worked for [b]nothing[/b]. Many think it’s ridiculous but there [b]is[/b] a precedent.

In the close of the Civil War, Union General Sherman proposed [quote] Special Field Orders No. 15,[/quote] which would have provided the equivalent of "40 acres & a mule" to each recently freed slave family. This was, of course, not honored, and in fact after slavery was abolished the money was given to some southern slaveowners to compensate [b]them[/b] for the loss of their slaves. 🤨
