China Hits US Defense Contractors with Sanctions over Taiwan Arms Deal

● China has imposed sanctions on Lockheed Martin and Raytheon for selling arms to Taiwan.
● The sanctions will restrict the two U.S. firms from conducting business with Chinese companies and institutions.
● China's foreign ministry said these sanctions were in response to recent US arms sales to Taiwan, which it sees as a breakaway province.

China has imposed sanctions on the US defense giants, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, for selling arms to Taiwan. This is the first time in nearly four decades that Beijing has taken such an action against a major US defense contractor.

The sanctions, which will include a ban on business with Chinese entities, follow China’s recent approval of a $2.2 billion arms deal with Taiwan. The sale includes 108 M1A2T Abrams tanks and 250 Stinger missiles. China’s foreign ministry said the sanctions are a “necessary response” to the US’s “provocation” of the “one-China principle”, which states that Taiwan is part of China.

That's got to hurt. Is China aware that the US prohibits Raytheon and Lockheed-Marten from doing business with Chinese companies?

This is likely to hurt them more than help them! 😆

I feel sorry for the Chinese people though, which obviously China doesn't care about. And never did.

They are a dictatorship. Not even close to communistic.

Despite the two other major powers, like Russia and China, we can still trade with the rest of the world. They both are limited.

smoke and mirrors. China is just lining up alongside it's buddy Russia to undermine and break the US dollar more than money printing during covid already has.

So this leads to various implications.
1) Are US military contractors solely reliant on a foreign power?
2) Is the US military solely reliant on a foreign power?
3) Are these companies even legally allowed to contract out to a foreign power?

Either way, gonna be a fun shitshow.

You see, It’s not just America the EU and UK that can put sanctions on other countries, it’s about time America got a taste of it’s own medicine
