I Am Chinese

So my Chinese Zodiac is the Dog. Next year is 2018. I want to go on vacation. Yet it is said by my parents that my year is bad luck and a chance of death. I am just overwhelmed by the depressing years. That I want to do something for myself. I don't know what to do.
