@Hinckley You all deserve your own sovereignty, I forget exactly which battle of the late 18th century colonial uprising ensured Canada stayed under the UK, I want to say Sararoga, but don't quote me.

During the War of 1812, there was continuous fighting along the US-Canada border along the Great Lakes which ended in stalemate.

@Thinkerbell We were not taught that in US public schools, the only battles that were discussed in our textbooks were New Orleans, Washington DC, and the Chesapeake.

Tecumseh, who made common cause with the British and Canadians in an effort to prevent American expansion westward, was killed during one of the battles of the War of 1812.

As you wish.
"Tecumseh (born 1768, southeast of Old Chillicothe [north of modern Xenia, Ohio, U.S.]—died October 5, 1813, near Thames River, Upper Canada [now in Ontario, Canada]) was a Shawnee Indian chief, orator, military leader, and advocate of intertribal Indian alliance who directed Indian resistance to white rule in the Ohio River valley. In the War of 1812 he joined British forces for the capture of Detroit and the invasion of Ohio. A decisive battle against William Henry Harrison’s U.S. troops ended in Tecumseh’s defeat and death."

Actually, I've found Wikipedia to be quite reliable for simple matters of fact, such as historical dates, population statistics, etc.
