If she hadn't stopped for the deer she may be dead. Crashing into a deer can do some damage. The other car had the responsibility to watch the road in front of them.

@REMsleep She stopped in the middle of the road. If I remember correctly, she was allowing the deer to cross the road.

@ProfessorPlum77 If it was a highway you cannot stop totally under any circumstances besides stopped vehicle in front of you. You can slow down, you can go around but totally stopping is a major hazard. I would never stop and wait for a deer. I would slow way down to lessen impact but my fear would be to cause an accident.
