Outback in Brazil

Outback Steakhouse (the American faux-Australian chain) is wildly popular in Brazil! The largest Outback in the world is in Brazil. They think it is chic there! And of course, Brazilians are beef-deprived 😉.

This is where people go to celebrate birthdays, promotions, engagements.

Things just catch on, like KFC in Japan.

Outback is my favorite chain restaurant lol. They're a steakhouse but they have great seafood, which is why I go there.
@DearAmbellina2113 I've been disappointed with the steaks at Outback. We used to eat there regularly when they had butterflied lamb, but since they discontinued that I haven't been back. We have other places with great seafood here in Savannah.

All the Outbacks here closed down. That bloomin onion was disgusting. 🤭

@Degbeme We tried the Bloomin' Onion once! That was more than enough. But I do enjoy the steaks. The bread is wonderful, and the sangria is good, too.
@Degbeme @Poppies Sacrilege! The Blooming Onion is amazing.

The multi-agency operation that resulted in the largest human trafficking bust here in Georgia a few years ago was code named "Blooming Onion."

@hunkalove Brazil is renowned for its beef! That is why it is so funny that Outback has caught on the way it has! It seems to be the experience that they love, more than the food. Apparently the Outback is not as festive in the US as it is in Brazil.

Australian here... I need to try this Outback.. to see if there is ANYTHING familiar with the food.. XD
Poppies · 61-69, F
@walabby sounds right! And boomerangs decorating the walls!
Poppies · 61-69, F
@walabby you have at least 8 locations in Australia -- says Google
walabby · 70-79, M
@Poppies Good grief! Fake Australian, American food... in Australia! 😯
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I thought Brazilian beef was very popular. I remember reading that a lot of McDonald's beef was from Brazil and Argentina.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
That’s odd, and people in the USA pay high prices at these Brazilian Steak Houses.
Poppies · 61-69, F
@BackyardShaman so I've heard!

Is it kind of like what the Olive Garden is to Italian restaurants?
Poppies · 61-69, F
@chrisCA Probably!
tindrummer · M
"beef deprived" - nope
Poppies · 61-69, F
@tindrummer tongue-in-cheek, thus the winking emoji
tindrummer · M
@Poppies sorry, didn't catch that 😋
