Is Victoria our equivalent to the U.S. state of California?

In terms of the sheer incompetence and corruption that exists within our government, and the extremists who consistently try to tell us all how to live our lives. There are definitely similarities I think, but of course we don't seem to get California's weather unfortunately. Our weather tends to be just as chaotic and dysfunctional as our politics.
