True. To your ref to EV's. Those Lithium batteries should not be allowed to leach into landfill or worse burn to release toxins just because we are too quick to embrace new tech before we have worked out how to deal with the long term consequences. Same with power tool batteries. There must be mountains of them waiting to be broken up and recycled but no real solution in this country.

@Maturebate Australia at present has zero lithium battery recycling at any scale to process 'waste' EV battery modules or damaged/at-risk ones from crashed or otherwise damaged EV's that insurance companies deem a write-off. There's glass recycling for 'normal' glass, but nothing for tempered/armoured glass used in transportation windscreens and side windows on cars/trucks/4wd's.
