Australian government set to 'ban' social media for under 16 y/o children

How that can be implemented is currently a hot topic of debate.

My 7 y/o uses youtube (which I vet quite frequently), but doesn't do tik-tok (I won't let her) or snapchat or instagram (they're totally irrelevant to her age group) and she doesn't have FB (again irrelevant).

IG is full of under age postings and littered with teens selling additional “content” via telegram YET they regularly ban Adults who want to have private conversations with others if they feel that those adults have “breached” their “community guidelines”

If you are banned on IG you are also blocked from using FB and Messenger.

The IG “moderation team” needs to sort out its AI powered moderation robots because the system is a a FUBAR mess.
