In Texas, we spray beneficial nematodes on the ground and the fire ants disappear. We also avoid their mounds.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik Orange oil sprayed on the nests will kill them quickly too

@sarabee1995 quick fix. Nematodes last for years

There's a product that I once used that gives the queen constipation. It takes about a week. Yet it's effective. 🤣
sarabee1995 · 26-30, FVIP
@DeWayfarer So she dies of constipation??? 🤔
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@sarabee1995 apparently explodes from it

Amdro Fire Ant Killer for Mounds™ is made from corn grit. When it gets wet, the bait becomes soggy and is no longer appealing to the fire ants. The longer you can keep the area dry, the better the chances you have of the bait being picked up and carried back to the colony. We recommend applying the product when rain is not expected within 24 hours.
