Maybe people should start living closer to where they work. Or working closer to where they live..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Damn, what a concept! Have never lived farther than 5 miles from work and most of my career only 2. My wife and I at one point discussed do we buy something newer in suburbia or invest that money in renovating/remodeling what we had. That was about a nanosecond conversation. We chose to actually be able to see our kids before bedtime, not have the recurring commute costs, and the stress of commuting heaped atop the stress of our jobs.

Smart move! Commuting anywhere is a bad idea. Live on the doorstep of where you work and play and avoid commuting because it's never worth it.

@dancingtongue I concur. My son and his wife are urban dwellers and walk minutes to work. And I worked ten minutes suburban drive from mine for 30 years, while my wife was always within 20 minutes drive. My daughter is a thirty minute suburban drive from hers. But only drives in 2 days a week, telecommuting the rest. The fuel savings alone are significant and of course, no city parking. 😷
