The fine for not voting in australia

Is over $100. Thats for state and federal parliament. Which other countries have mandatory voting.

I didn’t vote till I was in my late 20s. The fine is not really enforced. There are many reasons you can tick for not voting here.

@Notladylike it is enforced because i got done recently. My reason being i didnt realise it was voting day. I knew it was coming up just not so soon. I rarely watch mainstream media because im not interested
@LandOfOz You get the letters sure but nothing happens if you don’t pay them and you get an opportunity to respond via a prepaid envelope. That’s how it used to be anyway but sorry to hear if you are stuck with a fine.
