Housing Skilled Workers
Yes, Australia needs more workers.
My question is how is it possible that all these workers will be housed when there is not enough housing now?
We have rental tenants being evicted and unable to find suitable accommodation thus being forced to live in their cars.
Where is the will of the Government to build enough social and affordable housing?
It is time we allocate a few billion dollars on this emergency issue.
Instead we decide we will give the Pacific Islands $525 million from the $4 billion yearly Foreign Aid budget.

Obviously you don't have a housing shortage if you are being evicted. The problem is why are they being evicted.

Sounds like the very same problem as here in the USA. The rent's too high or the mortgage is too high. Or just not enough money to pay the bills. Not the lack of housing.

Also noticed they said "suitable" accomodations. Sounds like someone is being picky! And is going to not pay the rent again... because it's "not suitable". Endless cycle.

@DeWayfarer There is a housing shortage. Once evicted, there is no where for them to go. Lack of available housing, lack of affordable housing.
Which means only those who earn an above average wage can afford a home.
The rest? Thrown on the scrap heap.

@Gusman that's my point... Above a certain wage!

There's housing, but you can't afford it! It sits idle. Force the use of those houses.

If not being used tax the heck out of the owners. And use the money to build new houses for the poorer to own. No more renting then.
Foreign aid is not a charity
