Novak Djokovic granted Medical Exemption to play at OZ open Tennis

Well there is one for the books. After all the 💩 Victoria has been through, some bratty Serbian gets a free pass to come and get richer and Victorians are supposed to thank the Federal and State government. I have been behind our state Premier as he stood up and held the line for Victorians against Scummo and his corrupt clowns in Canberra. But in one hit he lost me. Sorry Dan. theres a couple of informal votes in your electorate now. As for the tennis. Boycott it, the TV and the sponsors. I dont get mad, just even.😷

And in the latest development, Djokovic has had his Visa cancelled by Federal authorities, and will be removed to a Quarantine Hotel, pending a flight out. He is "unhappy" and threatening a court appeal, which will go nowhere.
A couple of media quotes:😷

"Novak Djokovic’s visa has been cancelled and his Australian Open campaign is in tatters.

The tennis star was told to leave the country after controversy erupted over his vaccine exemption but he is expected to challenge the decision in Victoria’s courts.

Djokovic will reportedly be transported to a quarantine hotel in the city before boarding a flight back to Europe.

Prime Minster Scott Morrison tweeted on Thursday morning: “Mr Djokovic’s visa has been cancelled. Rules are rules, especially when it comes to our borders. No one is above these rules."

@whowasthatmaskedman Fine, but shouldn't they have said that BEFORE he flew in.

@eli1601 Yes.. The thing is complex and political. The Federal govt always had the power to stop him cold. But actually wanted him here for the tennis and as a symbol that Oz was open for business again. But the State of Victoria (which is the lock down capital of the world) had the say as to whether he could enter and play tennis here under our restrictions. Now it seems he skated past two "independent " reviews that SHOULD have stopped him. (Dont ask me how) and the fertilizer hit the fan with the public a day ago.
Scummo the Prime Minister is facing certain defeat at an election in a few months and smelled popular votes for flip flopping on his position because the State had dropped the ball and alerted Customs and Immigration Borderforce to apply heat and a magnifying glass to Djokovics Visa, which NEVER complied with the letter of the rules, giving no Medical reason he should not be vaccinated.
So your opening remark is right. He should never have be granted permission in the first place. It was the feds who bent the rules to allow him in, and now have to correct it. If any other Aussie has a correction or something to add, feel free.)😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Election Year. ScoMo and boys acting tough.

@KiwiBird Next you will hear him take the credit and trying to sound like Clint Eastwood. But Hey! Its a win as far as I am concerned. I will take it. Our State Government dropped the ball.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Manus Island have offered him a wild card at their Tennis Open. Duration about nine years.

@whowasthatmaskedman From a sister across the ditch: my guess is that the self-entitled arranged a nice little rort with financial gain and social prestige in mind, and the politicians went along with it for the party donations.

As soon as the public became conscious to what was happening, and expressed outrage, the politicians were very quick to toss the self-entitled under the bus. The self-entitled, in turn, played their 'two "independent “ reviews’ card, although their spokesperson’s smug contempt for the Victorian public doomed that ploy from the start.

I would love to have listened in on the phone calls! 😀

Well done, Skippy!!

@newjaninev2 And I now believe Kiwis are physic. The only thing to add is that Djokovic probably shot himself in the foot by smuggly announcing the whole thing on Instagram, alerting the media and giving the public enough time to scream bloody murder before it was a done deal. If he had kept quiet it would have been over before anyone knew.. But it is nice to know that being number 1 doesnt put you above the rules everywhere.😷

@newjaninev2 Thats just not so. He can pack up his 💩 and leave any time he likes. Djokovic is currently as as popular as a 💩 in a swimming pool in Melbourne. The people have put up with a lot for the sake of the community and are ready to push back right when he offers himself as a target. Legally I believe his appeal will be rejected. or the judge will withhold a decision until too late for him to play. (Which frankly I am in favour of, to waste his time.) However, if he does get a green light in time and plays, this will not end well for the organisers, and probably Djokavic. (Thinking back to Frank Sinatras last visit.)😷

@whowasthatmaskedman what happened with Sinatra?
@newjaninev2 He didn’t get the COVID vaccine either.

@newjaninev2 His 1974 tour didnt go so well. He didnt like the lack of "respect" he got from the local press and made insulting comments, didnt like how they were reported, and it escalated. In the end, was locked in his hotel room with the hotel staff refusing him service and the airport staff refusing to clear his plane. This link will give more detail.
