What do the Taliban and the state of Arizona have in common?

Both are ultra conservative in their idealism and views on the Bible/koran .. often to the extreme.
Both consider women as objects or male possessions which means that women don’t have any rights. Especially where women’s health, and the right to have an abortion are concerned.

I wouldn’t want an abortion I can always give my child to a loving family instead
@MrsMONAKanful It’s about having the choice. If you were raped by someone at age 12, you might feel differently.

@MrsMONAKanful No woman wants an abortion but sometimes an abortion is the best solution .
The debate is not about adoption.

@MrsMONAKanful It’s about not having to resort to getting a court order to have an abortion and then to run into medical difficulties while awaiting the court order which then gets denied.

@MrsMONAKanful A child shouldn’t have to lose her life being forced to give birth because of the actions of some animal. It’s not the rape or incest victim’s fault either. Pregnancy puts the mother’s life (the life that has already begun) at risk, and the U.S. has a high maternal mortality rate because of our lack of affordable healthcare.
The people insisting babies be born are not paying for prenatal care.

@MrsMONAKanful a fetus isn't a BABY
MrsMONAKanful · 36-40, F
@PleasurePunch a fetus is a life

@MrsMONAKanful its not a BABY though.

I wont argue with u. Thank you.

By the way what the Taliban and Arizona have in common is neither entity could ever be my home, both have very objectionable politics, of course these aren't the only 2 things in that category.
@MrsMONAKanful It’s only potentially life.

@justanothername "The debate is not about adoption."

Adoption is very relevant to the debate. It provides an alternative to not wanting your child and does not involve depriving it of life. The state has an obligation to care for babies who are not wanted. Not all adoptions are good, but in cases where the mother wants to kill the baby she is pregnant with, they are the best option, and all parties will benefit.

Abortion is the most extreme case of selfishness we have in society.

@PleasurePunch "its not a BABY though."

What is it?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@badlands Adoption is not part of this particular debate. This debate is solely about a woman’s own right to choose to have an abortion without having to resort to the lengthy process of going through legal channels to find that you are denied the right.
badlands · 22-25, F
@justanothername Once pregnant, she has no right to choose. Rights are given by the state and the US Constitution does not recognize abortion. Why would it have?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@badlands There’s no difference between your view and the view of the Taliban on this issue.

It’s very hard to make any sort of pro when your views are that backwards.
badlands · 22-25, F
@justanothername Do you not support the Constitution?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@badlands I support a woman’s right to choose.

Abortion is not mentioned in the Constitution.
