I spent 20 years working in the beautiful countryside of Somerset in England, UK.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Glossy Ah yes, an area I know fairly well.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@FreddieUK By co-incidence I was on the Mendip Hills yesterday, and noticed many of the fields looked a bit greener than off the hills. Even so, the trees are starting so suffer; their leaves turning brown.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Glossy That is becoming the problem: long spells with far too little rain, then too much at once so the water just runs off as floods.

In the past there was a fairly even spread of rains and sometimes snow from late-Autumn to Spring, then occasional "topping-up" from more showery weather in Summer or Autumn. The seasons were more marked, too.

Same. I would love to move back to the UK. I'm really thinking about doing so. Especially after my daughter graduates and is out on her own.

It rains ALL the time in the UK. But Italy is very nice!
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou Not rained significantly where I live for about 2 months. It's a new record for heat and length of dry periods. Houses and countryside are literally burning. I'm afraid your version of the UK is a bit out of date now, with climate change. There is rain in the north right now, but even there there have been wildfires.
4meAndyou · F
@FreddieUK Yes, you are right. I had forgotten about the dreadful dry spell and the wildfires.

I was remembering how Nimbus described it.

UK? Are you sure? I think it depends where in UK.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover I'll still choose the UK over Italy if hot weather was the concern lol

GoFish · 41-45, F
oh do you not like your town?
expiredbf · 18-21, M
Hell no @GoFish
GoFish · 41-45, F
@expiredbf my town here was kinda sucky too lol
Elessar · 31-35, M
Italy is a furnace in summer. Unless you pick places at 3000m above ground maybe
Uk is varied. The places they show are only a tiny part of what is is like - and for a small island you can imagine how tiny that is.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
Same here. All I have is hot rocks
The UK is "cooler"??? Maybe cooler than Africa... but that's about it - we're hot off the back of 30 degree Celsius days...
expiredbf · 18-21, M
I meant like cool as in awesome. Not the weather lol @HootyTheNightOwl
@expiredbf I'd still stick with somewhere that has ac...
