Is it ethical to buy a product directly from China?

Please everyone keep your shirt on. I just don't know about the labor practices over there and the implications of giving them my money directly. I would like to be informed before doing it.

I think we're at a point where Chinese labour practices aren't appreciably worse than American ones.
