Why do some men/woman go to third world countries to get girlfriends/boyfriends when there are so many single woman in North America?

Women from the Philippines that I've met are very pretty, hard working, good with kids, and conservative. They are still of the belief that they must obey their husbands. That leaves them open to abuse in relationships but they are so financially desperate that they will do sad and unspeakable things for money. If you want an education or health care over there you pay in advance. Things we take for granted like garbage pickup and flushing toilets are not common. They either want to come here to have a chance for themselves and their families or they want someone to care for them.
