If the Clintons want to testify publicly, why don't they just hold a media conference where they say everything and take questions?

If they truly are interested in the truth getting out publicly, doesn't that seem like the best way possible?

I don't believe they are under any legal obligations to keep silent unless in a room with Republicans. They have the freedom to speak at any time and always have.

I get that their pressure is to call out Republican hypocrisy, however, there's literally nothing keeping them from actually talking.

They know Republicans would continue to spout nonsense about them. That is why they would only testify in public in front of cameras. I'm not a huge fan of the Clintons but they are a lot smarter than those politicians who love playing "gotcha."

@Crazywaterspring They could always do both.

I'm no fan of them either. They both did their own damage to America.

@FoxyGoddess The Republicans will do both. They now have three networks.

The main drawback to this is the ways it would be twisted by right wing media and influencers and no effective means of counteracting the twists. With either closed door or open testimony with Congress the same happens, but it’s easier to contain the damage.

I think it’s mostly to expose the hypocrisy; Comer never threatened anyone else with contempt of congress for not testifying.
