An investigation by Columbia University had found that Dr. Mehmet Oz conducted experiments on over 1000 live animals, including over 300 dogs, without anesthesia and in violation of the Animal Welfare Act. A whistleblower revealed that Oz subjected dogs to what can only be described as gratuitous torture, even in cases where the experimental data was not usable.
Oz, a former heart surgeon and peddler of quack remedies on TV, was endorsed by former president Donald Trump in his Senate run against Democrat John Fetterman, Pennsylvania's Lieutenant Governor.
