The GOP Senate

Ripped up the proposal Schumer drafted, saying it was a "non-starter".

Schumer's proposal allowed the ACA, the healthcare republican voters want, to continue for another year.

The GOP said that this was not an issue they felt was important.

Meanwhile, republican voters are facing premiums in the $1,000's.

So when all you republicans scream that the Democrats are keeping the government closed, remember:

Your party said it was a non-starter and that healthcare provided in the ACA is not an important issue to them.

This is a Republican close of government and they are not just keeping it closed by refusing to negotiate, they don't want their voters to have affordable healthcare.

Absolutely on the mark! This puts the GOP on record as refusing to negotiate for affordable healthcare through a one year extension of the ACA tax credits which are supported by 78% of the US citizens. The Republicans own this shutdown fully.
