Strictgram By any metric you choose, Trump was a successful president
OK. I choose jobs created during his presidency.
A: The only president since WWII to lose jobs during his presidency. In fact, more than 2 million jobs were lost on his watch. MISERABLE FAILURE
Alright, I choose impeachments.
A: The only president to be impeached not once but twice. Half of all the impeachments in US presidential history were of Trump. FAILURE
Hmmm. OK, I choose the annual budget deficit.
A: The two largest annual budget deficits in US history were under Trump. And it isn't even close. MISERABLE FAILURE
Gosh, there must be SOME metric where he shows a positive. How about the unemployment rate?
A: Trump took office in January 2017. The unemployment rate was 4.7% Thanks, Obama! The unemployment rate in January 2021, when Trump almost had to be physically removed from office, was 6.3%. Gosh, he was a FAILURE there too!
Most amount added to the national debt by a president in a four year term?
A; Yep, that was Trump too. FAILURE
The lowest unemployment rate in the last 30 or 40 years?
A: That would be Biden in April of this year at 3.4%. Not Trump. TOTAL TRUMP FAILURE.
Peacefully transitioning power to his duly elected successor?
A: Nope. He's the only one in history who refused to do that.
I guess you must have meant any SELECTIVE metric of YOUR choice! He did have some significant accomplishments though. He did form the largest political CULT in our history. He did significantly increase the level of racism and white supremacy in our country. And he was the first to openly support Neo-Nazis.
