@anythingoes477 Obviously you have never been a target of a federal prosecutor. Look at Dinesh D'Souza for an example. They found one thing everyone was doing that he had done, charged him for that, then added about a dozen charges for how he had done it. But, they never went after anyone else. In essence, he donated $20k to a good man to run for public office, but because he opposed fascism Obama punished D'Souza.

The DOJ has a 97.4% conviction rate. If they indict......they are nearly 97% sure that person did indeed commit the crimes he is indicted for. If along the sway in the investigation another half dozen or dozen...or 91 other crimes show up...of course they will charge him with those too. I think you think you have some kind of point.........but god knows what it is. If the DOJ uncovers other felonies committed in the course of their investigation of one felony charge.......do you expect them to just say never mind???

When prosecutors have enough on someone to send them to prison they ask those folks if they want to do prison time....or do you want to turn states evidence on the ones at the top of that circle who orchestrated the crime?? Thats how those facing RICO charges end up with no defense whatsoever....because their own co-conspirators to those crimes testify against them so they dont end up in prison themselves. The prosecutor makes deals....IF....what they have to say by flipping makes his case as a prosecutor easier and stronger....a plea bargain is struck.

Plea bargaining is standard practice for everything from traffic violations to murder cases. You really need to pull your head out of Q's ass and read a book. Asking something like this that a 6th grade Civics class kid already knows don't exactly make you like you're an Einstein. (BTW... Einstein is a smart guy....really smart....so you could never follow anything he says either.)

---42 state and federal felony counts for tax invasion, deceptive business practices, tax evasion both state of Florida and federal, multiple counts of fraud and interstate wire fraud for his university scam. Found guilty paid $25 to avoid prison time.

---2 counts of state and federal IRS tax fraud and Charities fraud...NY State. Found guilty paid $2.2 million to avoid jail time.

---Found guilty of rape in NY State and ordered to pay $5 million in damages. He stupidly repeated the same defamation claims against the woman he raped the day he left court and is now awaiting a new jury finding for more in damages.

---Found guilty of bank, insurance and IRS tax fraud trump enterprises in NY State.......had all of his holdings {in excess of $255 million} in NY State seized and his enterprises dissolved and banned from ever doing business again in NY State.....for YEARS of fraud and deceptive business practices.

And that just scratches the surface. The DOJ historically has a 97.4% conviction rate for anyone they indict. He "might" didge 5 indicted charges. Maybe 10. Maybe 20............................but 91??? he's a felon that has is currently indicted for more crimes than any Mafia Don ever has been in history. Think of that.
