What's with Graham on the Abortion bill?

He's bucking what seems to be the established Republican strategy for the midterms for sure, and the Dem/pro choice crowd will surely jump on "this is what they really want" and the States Rights/legal crap is BS, which seems like an awfully big gamble for a guy whose term is not up.

Does he really think this is the magic the Republicans need for the midterms, or is he, in this case, staying "relevant" for the 2024 Presidential campaign?

I tend to think the latter, personally.

Graham will suck every available @#$& to keep himself relevant. The guy has lost any sense of direction since his friend John McCain died.

But from a political maneuvering standpoint, I think the bill is an attempt to say "see, this is what you can have if you vote GOP in November."

*If* he proposed a bill that codified legal abortions under 15 weeks in all states, and outlawed them afterwards except in medical and rape cases, he would probably get quite a few democrats to jump on board. But my feeling is that his bill as it is will backfire and actually bring more pro choice folks to the polls.
