@Whyme is it electric?

@Mistakesmakeus it runs on your hopes and dreams every time you turn the key they get a little darker
@Whyme No one will ever believe me, but I was ready to vote for almost any Republican over Hillary, except Trump.
Watching him shred that crowd of candidates with bullshit was painful to me.
Just saying. Given that almost all of them sucked up to him, it's not like I'm likely to ever vote for a Republican again.

@MistyCee if you took a minute to look into the political situation in canada you may understand my distaste for anything liberal but i also blame the conservatives for not being strong enough to defeat what i concider the worst prime minister in history i cant support either side here or there ya trump is a habitual lier but like i said biden is no better hes just not on twitter the entire scope of political parties are a disgrace in my opinion and are both just saying they are worse fact remains the economy was better under conservative though
@Whyme I understand totally that I don't get the political student scene in Canada, but whatever they may be, i'm hoping that you can get that my objections to to Trump and Trumpism aren't so much guided by left vs right, or economic conservatism vs liberalism, as opposed to Trumpism, which, imo, is a different kind of rejection of rational thought or reasoning.
At heart, Trumpism is about self vs other and a rejection of the other, above all. Lying, committing fraud, murder,etc, are all acceptable to Trumpists, imo.

@MistyCee im not convinced any high level political person is any better i think you should be against twitter and the platforms and maybe concider as bad as trump may be he may not be worse you just see his thoughts they are right out there and that i think is better than keeping them hidden
@Whyme thanks for your thoughts.
I disagree with your idea that open immorality and dishonesty is better than not praising and encouraging it in others, but I get where you're coming from.
Trump is much more up front and honest in terms of his motivations and respect for others, as evidenced by the fact that he stands up for his own interests and rejects dumb "socialist" ideas like being bound by laws or ideas that serve others as opposed to himself.
I really don't think, personally, that this kind of honest dishonesty serves the public interest, but, I get where that's the point.
Politicians like Biden and others, who pretend to adhere to ideas like the greater good are still likely to be driven by self interest, and at least Trump is "honest" about his dishonesty and lack of respect or concern for others, unless he can use them.

@Whyme Of course not. The difference is one of degree. Trump is really successful in terms of "using" people, i.e., creditors, investors, and consumers, and still managing to move on and pull another scam.
Biden, on the other hand, has played a less dramatic game, using folks, while purporting to be a public servant. I get the problem with hypocrisy, and Biden was never my first choice, but I think there's something to be said for clinging to the idea of serving anyone but himself as opposed to making a mockery of it.

@Whyme lol.
Close, but no cigar.
I'd prefer a human being I can relate to, who may lie, but doesnt flaunt it or promote his contempt for anyone but himself as a virtue or positive.
Honestly, its really hard for me to defend Biden. I thought he did a pisspoor job with Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas, and was a pretty mediocre Senator before Obama drafted him as VP.
But Trump is something else, everything entirely. He's a guy who will spread any bushit lies that serve his own interests, and stick by them, regardless of the consequences or objective reality.
And, imo, the underlying thread for Trump, is his contempt for anyone and everything but himself. Mueller, for example, was the perfect set up for him to testify under oath, and submit to a relatively friendly cross examination by a lifelong Republican (and maybe a doddering one), and sacrifice a little ego in order to continue to serve the American people as President.
Bullshit aside, Mueller was an attempted lifeline thrown to him, but Trump couldn't take it, because of his own ego.
I get the appeal of a bull in a china shop, ripping down corrupt institutions, calling out hypocritical politicians and "draining the swamp.". Hell, Bernie's folks shared that motivation.
But Trump had, and still has, no solutions beyond "trusting in him" and rejecting eyes, ears, science and ideas like not bearing false witness.
