I was responding to a post and this came out. I think it is what I would like to say to all the people who see me as some kind of monster.

I am passionate about what I believe, as I am sure you are, but I cannot afford to be emotionally invested to the extent that it would upset me that people disagree with me, or think ill of me because of what I believe. Understand. Disagreement spawns ad hominem because we are human, but at some point, you have to either accept that you are going to be insulted, or cease to voice your opinion. If the conversation reaches the point of endless zinger exchanges, then it is just time to end the conversation, or enjoy the distraction of zinger creativity.

Yeah, don't argue at all, don't reevaluate your positions. Just preach to others and never engage or come to new insights. Confronting your believes might be a negative experience, and who wants negative experiences? Just stay on the same level for the rest of your life and feel good about yourself. Because ignorance is bliss.

@Kwek00 I think your zingers should be funnier and less psychobabbleistic. Everyone thinks they are fuggin Sigmund Freud or Carl Jung, but you are shooting for Hannibal Lecter! People like to laugh, man! Lighten up.

@Oberon1 You don't have to bring big names into the conversation. It's just a consequence of your attitude. You treat everything as just "an opinion", and everyon apperently has the right to hold these hollow things and everyone else just has to live with it. This absolves people from getting better in their reasoning, because everything is fair game and equal. This dumb idea looses all power the moment we are going to talk about what descisions have to be made and which "opinions" we are going to use to make these descisions. At that point, you elevate your opinion as the right one. But people shouldn't argue over that opinion, because that would generate a negative experience for you because it would mean you have to think about what you are actually saying.

Everyone has just an opinion, suddenly becomes authoritarian when it's your opinion. And you personally don't have the time to discuss what you hold to be true, because that would be an "emotional" investment, in other words... it could generate a negative emotional experience. So we all just have to accept them and move on with our lives so you can have your little safe space where you can conjur up these grand opinions that are equal to all other opinions (for the sake of sheltering them from scrutiny) untill descisions have to be made.
