Self sacrificing stuff is too much of a trope. Idk it turned into a cheap Netflix drama thing. Like how they crapped up live action one piece....meh. Drama in movies and shows is my least favorite anymore. I did like it tho.
@pride49 In Loki's case though it's a pretty huge deal. I mean think about it, that's a 12 years long character arc from being the selfish God of Mischief who just wanted to feel important and have people recognise him, now becoming the selfless God of the Multiverse and giving up his need of self-importance and sacrificing his own happiness to protect the people he cares about and the entire Multiverse
So it's not just done to do a self sacrifice trope, it's way deeper than that
@JJones He should have realized what he was capable of in the off world going through the shadow monster to get to He Who Remains at the end of season one, and constantly battling Sylvie.
