Have you seen this new quarter?

A guy I work with found it saying he’s never seen one like it. At the office (I make the distinction because we work in the field, not the office) he showed it to our bosses wife who handles the phones and most of the filing. He told her it says something in Spanish and she went on this tirade about how America shouldn’t be catering to the Mexicans and we’re losing our country.
So I looked at the coin and told her that the inscription was Hawaiian, not Spanish. The woman on it is Edith Kanakaʻole, a celebrity of sorts there (I’m sure that’s grossly oversimplifying it). Now she thinks it’s a nice piece of Hawaiian culture immortalized in a coin.
So to recap; if it’s in Spanish, they’re taking over. If it’s in literally any other language, it’s “nice”.
Though probably not any other language. I have a coin from the UAE that I should bring and tell her is a new quarter.

I have not seen that one yet. I like it though! Seems like a lovely tribute to a figure who deserves it. But that story about that woman's tirade against Mexicans is maddening... What an incredibly ignorant individual she must be to not recognize that that's clearly not Spanish. Even if it was, her rant just goes to show she obviously has some deep-rooted prejudice against Mexican people. I can't stand bigots like that...
