Rachmaninoff, "Rhapsody On A Theme of Paganini" Opus 43 (18th Variation)

I love all of the variations, but this, imo is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever.
And from a man who wrote some incredibly beautiful music.

Oh,man I know this from a program my parents watched when I was a child..beautiful but with undercurrents of sadness
@bookerdana It was made popular by a 1981 movie, "Somewhere In Time" that starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.

@bijouxbroussard This was much earlier than that..I was five...they usually only watched television on Fridays and most of the Classical music I know comes from cartoons and Fantasia😩
@bookerdana Oh, okay. Why did I think you were one of the "youngsters" here ? But that movie definitely made a lot of people who hadn’t been classical fans aware of that piece of music.

@bijouxbroussard I guess b/c I'm IGNORANT...🤔 Still I usually Like classical when I hear it. I have a friend who is a musician and comes from a family of musicians and he wanted to go see Handel: Messiah. ...local HS production. I enjoyed it but he thought it it was all the Hallelujah Chorus and wanted to leave🫢
