How about another totalitarian government? He wants ultimate control for life!
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2
But even without a totalitarian government, the US government has always wanted ultimate control of every American's life anyway! The Vietnam War and the resulting imposition of the 'draft' comes to mind, considering the US never once declared war on Vietnam nor did Vietnam ever attack the USA! 🤣

@SandWitch that is apples and oranges, and irrelevant to my comment. Do we really want to revert to a King? .
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2
Thanks to those who voted for Trump, America already HAS reverted to a King!
Now, the USA is right back at the same place that it fled from 250 years ago. I wonder where Americans will flee to next when they've finally had enough of Kings?
If you actually understood the relationship between how the US government thinks today, versus how the US government thought during the time of the Vietnam war and the President's imposition of the 'draft', you'd otherwise have an appreciation for the relevancy of my own comment to your post.

@SandWitch which draft are you discussing, that during the civil war, WWI etc.?
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2
The draft I'm referring to in my post samuel, was Vietnam. I've mentioned that at least twice now.

@SandWitch the draft existed long before that. I served in that era. I often felt guilty for not fighting against it rather than actually working to support the soldiers.
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2
OF COURSE the draft existed long before Vietnam! It was used in WWI and WWII as well, for god's sake man!
You don't understand the relevancy of my own post, but I must ask you if you even understand what you've written in your own post?

@SandWitch i give up. I don't need to explain to you. Have a good life.
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2
You're not explaining anything to me. If anything, I'm teaching you something that you've never thought about before. Does that resonate with you at all?

@SandWitch no, and i am ignoring your arrogance.

@samueltyler2
How could I be the one who's arrogant when you don't understand either of our posts?

@MarmeeMarch i really do not think people voted for the chaos he has created. The people who voted for him are in several buckets, but he won more on the economics, and he has really made that far worse.

@MarmeeMarch we do need more workers, workers that will do the jobs US citizens refuse. I agree there needs to be a process to decide who should be allowed to enter. We haven't had significant immigration reform for over 45 years, and it is needs. Do you remember how the Senate struggle and came up with a very conservative bill.yjatbwoukd have gone a very long way towards a new immigration policy? It had the votes to pass, then TACO told them he wanted them to stop the vote! That has not been brought up again,,!
