What mode of transport and how long are you traveling?
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
@SW-User I was going to ask something similar as that will determine what I would recommend. Like if you are here for two weeks but driving than anything further west would not be realistic.

SW-User
@Lackwittyname exactly!

@SW-User we’re going to use planes I think. I’m too young to rent a car there. I heard you have to be 25 if your from outside the country ? And the flights between states don’t seem that expensive. Travelling for around a month

@Medoesnotcare as long as you use low cost carriers like southwest, spirit, frontier, jetblue, you can get some decently priced flights. But not always if you don't book in advance. Plan your destinations and check flight prices. Right now you're actually in a good position because domestic air travel is down, and because of that, so are the prices.
There are a couple very low cost carriers like allegiant, sun country, and breeze airlines, but they have very limited routes

@SW-User we have been looking at flights on sky scanner and then using the cheapest airline that comes ups website

@Medoesnotcare When booking the low cast carriers just watch for the bag fees, even for carry on. I live in Chicago so I am biased toward that. Washington DC and New York City are both good. If you want more of a beach Myrtle Beach is good. Las Vegas is an interesting experience. I like San Francisco, Portland and Seattle as well.

@Medoesnotcare watch for bag fees if you're not traveling light, that can get expensive fast. If you're definitely doing orlando and Nashville, and other places, I'd plan for a linear path. Short hops are usually the most affordable. So, starting in Orlando and going other places from there. Florida summers are brutally hot and humid, so, you want to take that into consideration

@Lackwittyname I’m going to New York in December so I think I will give that one a miss. We’re also doing vegas for a Hens party soon. I’m not big on city breaks but I will have a look at the rest you suggested

SW-User
@Medoesnotcare what are your preferred style of destinations
Medoesnotcare · 22-25, F
@SW-User thank youuu. I will probably have a 20kg and a 10kg with me lol.

SW-User
@Medoesnotcare yeah, you're definitely going to need to check bag fees
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
@SW-User Agreed, bag fees can get expensive. It might be worth finding a rental car place, some will rent to a person under 25, but you might have to pay a larger deposit.
I just looked, both Hertz and Enterprise rent to under 25, but they will have a young renter fee that can vary based on where you are renting it. The benefit of a car would be say going to Nashville, rent a car and take a 3 hour drive to Memphis, visit for a day or two, return to Nashville, return the car at the airport then do your next flight.
Oh, I would say New Orleans is definitely worth a visit. Plus if you rent a car there you can see some of the other areas.
