Do New York residents still feel aftershocks of the attack?

Top | New | Old
I have family who lost friends and business associates in the towers on 9/11. My brother-in-law’s two brothers were in lower Manhattan that day and had to walk across bridges to get off the island. Public transportation and roads were completely shut down. To this day people are getting sick from exposure to toxic building materials from the site. Just seeing the skyline on a regular basis is a constant reminder that things will never be the same. That day becomes a part of your psyche forever.

@OlderSometimesWiser It was quite the ordeal. We will never forget. 🤗

I don't live there but my family is connected to the city, so I have been many times since childhood. I visited the memorial last December and it's still tough to do.

@DDonde I can only imagine. 😞

I never lived in New York but I worked there for 20 years. I was there on 9/11 and had to stay overnight, which was terrifying. And every time I saw a plane in the sky, it was a direct reminder.

@uncalled4 The trauma of Airplanes flying over your head lasted for a while.

@WhataHotBodyCanDo It never completely vanished.
