Depending on the time of day and what ports I am using, my service provider gives me a IP address as far as 1,000 miles up north of me.

@FurryFace it's a thousand miles to northern California from here. Not 8,000 miles! 😁

@DeWayfarer the drag is the free ones cause you to have to always redo your VPN very often

@FurryFace you don't need VPN because of the frequent IP changes. And why the VPN is dropped. No one can track you as long as you don't have GPS on! 😂
This site is silently having a fit over it. Because they have a method to ban VPN, but not ban freebie cellphone accounts. 🙃😈
If you want even better anti tracking use the ancient proxy methods! 🤣
They at least don't rely on the original IP to remain the same. Yet the IP address they give can often be truly anywhere in the world. So with proxies, Australia is possible for even you!
Basically what is happening with the free cellphone service providers, they are running a basic proxy server on their local networks.
They found out that proxy servers do a better load distribution. So they are using something similar to proxies.
It slows data traffic down to the individual customers is the only thing. But with 5g technology widely spread few even notice the slow down. So local network proxies are a cheap method to keep up free cellphone use.
While those with fixed IP addresses run a little faster even with VPN. But they pay for it, in both service provider and the cost of VPN.
Both service providers and websites hate the old proxy servers. It gives them profit loss nightmares. But they have little choice but to use that method of local network load distribution on their own networks.
