My travels in the UK.

Back in the mid-eighties I took a journey to London, I friggin loved it. I traveled around a bit and rented a flat in Machester. It was great! I met some cool people and had a blast with the locals and had good food and drink at several local pubs. I loved meat pies and fish and chips as well as a good old English breakfast. Just a memory that I savor at times. As I said in an earlier post, I would love to go back on my way to Ireland, but God-almighty, they have made the UK almost impossible to visit with just the entry fees being so outrageous!

I was at London on New Year’s day 1984 on a bus tour through Belgium, Germany and France among others. They had a very expansive brunch at o e of the hotels and it was the first time I tried “black pudding”. The people at the Pub were very friendly and generous especially when i wore my Navy Crackerjacks.

@Pfuzylogic Yes, I was always treated well there. I never tried the pudding.

When I was active Navy I always had the rule to try a food you can’t find anywhere else. Someone told me that black pudding isn’t commonly served now.
