My mother left home when she was 14 and worked in a hotel then hospital before she married my father when she was 16. They remained happily married until death did them part. She never regretted her options or her choices.

@hippyjoe1955 my grandpa was kicked out of his home in Boston in 1932 at age 14 bc too many mouths to feed . Your mom sounds like a good woman .

@AthrillatheHunt She was a wonderful Mom. I kind of get a smile out of those who would delay adulthood for years. I worked on Dad's farm from the time I could walk. Gathering eggs as a young child. Herding cattle, feeding pigs, chickens, turkeys and ducks. Spending 8 hours a day driving the tractor when I was 10. Now people don't become adults until they are 35.
