Under Florida's new nickname rules I'd have to get my parent's permission to be called Rob in school.

This country gets sillier and sillier ever day.

Ha ! So much for "smaller" government, that’s an example of just making up unnecessary rules because they can. My poor cousin—"you can call me Al".
Nope, you’re Aloysius again. How he hates that name ! 🤭
@bijouxbroussard and I imagine the schools have to enter all this information into their databases! Every boy named Michael with have to be on record that there is written permission it's ok to call them Mike. Does it get sillier and more pointless?!
@robingoodfellow Sometimes I can see the direction they’re going with these arbitrary rules…I never like the direction but I see what they’re trying to do. Here, I suspect someone was allowing a kid to use a transgendered nickname or version of their own name in class.
Can’t have that. School shootings, no problem ! But you must be called the correct gendered name. 🙄
@bijouxbroussard if I was Florida, with it's record breaking warm ocean waters, I'd be far more concerned about this year's potential hurricane season than nicknames and pronouns.
