This is a railroad bridge at Ashland/Kinzie in Chicago.

Know what the crazy thing is? It's actually pretty common.

Very typical for Chicago (more so south chicago). I have to go there on business once in awhile. Hate going there and can't wait until I leave. People there just don't care and don't want to do anything about living in a safe and clean environment.

That’s not looking good sure it shouldn’t be used in that condition

Note to self...NEVER ride train in Chicago

We had an Interstate highway bridge like that here in Denver. The city let it go so long the whole bridge had to be replaced. That part of I-25 was closed for months.

OMG that’s a tragedy waiting to happen.
@cherokeepatti I haven't heard about or read of any, but I guarantee you that if there was a major disaster that the city would have a huge one on their hands.

@latinbutterfly Does anyone ever call the local news stations and show them photos of what they are seeing ?
@cherokeepatti Oh I'm sure. I found a few videos on Youtube from CBS Chicago, plus various online articles from the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald.

When I visited the US I also saw this plus pot holes, then Trump said he wanted to spend money on the infrastructure I thought good man.

Holy cow! Where is OSHA when you really need them?
empanadas · 31-35, M
Does that support the EL?
@empanadas Metra is a lot nicer compared to the CTA. Only problem is that it's not as consistent when it comes to being on time.
empanadas · 31-35, M
@latinbutterfly so is the CTA rails supports that messed up or worse?
@empanadas I believe the city is more consistent when it comes to taking care of the CTA. But that might be because they actually own the tracks that trains use. They don't own Metra so they probably figure, "Hey it's their tracks, their responsibility.

They were like that in Pittsburg but the revamp most of them. Looks dangerous
@candycane It was an issue even when I was a teenager in the 90s.

@bleach The city has a history of being lackadaisical when it comes to upgrading their infrastructure, usually waiting until something is in horrible shape.
